SEO Lead
Hybrid – Manchester (M2) & WFH
The role
As SEO Lead at Aware Digital, you will be responsible for owning our organic search engine optimisation offering, developing new services and managing campaigns to ensure ongoing success for our ecommerce clients. You’ll have the opportunity to work across a broad mix of clients to understand their requirements and support our team in delivering great results.
You’ll be carrying out technical SEO audits, creating improvement roadmaps and assisting with on-site and off-site SEO tasks. Whilst this will be a very hands on role to start with, the opportunity is there to grow and manage a team as our services and demand grows.
We’re a small team that prides itself on transparency, integrity and honesty. So whilst you’ll receive all the support you need to make this a success, you will need to be comfortable working under your own initiative.
Key responsibilities
- Develop SEO roadmaps and strategies for our clients and our own website
- Carry out keyword research, backlink audits, Core Web Vitals reviews, optimise metadata and other essential elements of on-site copy
- Carry out technical SEO audits and performance reporting
- Build out processes for carrying out all aspects of SEO tasks
- Facilitate client calls and meetings where required
- Contribute to client reports, highlighting successes, areas for improvement, and providing actionable insights.
- Contribute to blog posts, case studies and articles for our clients and our own website
- Stay up to date with the latest digital marketing trends and technologies, ensuring that strategies remain relevant and competitive
- Contribute to new business proposals and pitches
Who we’re looking for
- 2-3 years experience in an agency or client-facing role focusing on search engine optimisation
- Strong knowledge of SEO tools such as SEMRush and Screaming Frog
- Strong knowledge of webmaster tools such as Bing Webmaster Tools, Google Search Console and the wider suite of Google tools
- Experience with technical SEO, website audits, website migrations and implementing structured data and markup
- Strong analytical skills to turn data sets and insights into actionable tasks
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and project management skills
- Commercially minded to assist with the growth of SEO in an agency model
- A broader understanding of common digital marketing strategies and best practice
- Good communication skills with internal and external teams
- Relevant certifications to the role, such as Google Skillshop, are desired but not essential
- Ecommerce or Magento / Adobe Commerce experience is highly desired

- We work on a flexible, hybrid model to support you where you work best. Ideally this would include 2-3 days a week from our central Manchester (M2) office, as well as WFH and occasional travel to our HQ in Stoke-on-Trent (J15).
